Here’s another bill that is in the senate

SB541 By Senator Dixon RFD Constitution, Campaign Finance, Ethics, and Elections Rd 1 31-MAR-09. SYNOPSIS:. This bill would propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to establish the Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (PACT) Program Rainy Day Account within the Alabama Trust Fund.

Re: Alabama Senate

Being an educator, it seems like Alabama is always turning to the Rainy Day Account within the Alabama Trust Fund to bail out education.  It sure seems to "rain" alot with the education system.  Will this provide enough ongoing money to cover PACT during these lean economic times?  Our schools are already in proration and I remember the Rainy Day Fund being used to help our schools this year.  My system actually expects this coming school year to be even tougher than this current school year.   Being a mom of 2 PACT boys, I want a  stable source of funds for PACT. Would gov. leaders being to "borrow" money from this account too?
