Topic: Has the PACT Board given up?

With the decision yesterday to move to bonds, has the Board given up on making tuition payments beyond 2014? With funding now at 62%, and destined to drop as future tuition increases almost certainly will 'outperform' the new asset mix, is there any chance PACT can pay everyone's tuition w/out a cash infusion from the state? NO.

So, while some of us are waiting to find out what, if anything, will be paid on our guaranteed contracts, others are continuing to get 100% payments? Is this fair? NO.

I suggest that until the state speaks out and guarantees all future payments through a change in the law, or a cash infusion, that no one should get paid. Will everyone like this? NO.

The best way I know to make this happen is to file a request with the courts to freeze the assets. Hopefully that will expedite a proper solution, but if not then at least everyone will get a fair share of whatever is remaining rather than some continuing to skim off the top. Would this make me popular? NO.

I'm glad that Ivey and her Board finally realized that they are required to balance income w/ conservation of capital, but isn't this a little extreme, and a little late? YES.
