Topic: Why not trade Bryce to UA for PACT credit?
A recent study undertaken and proposed to Gov Riley and UA showed that the Bryce property should have approx $84M of current value to UA. This property is worth much much less (if anything) to the state, and nothing to anyone else except UA. Why not trade it to UA for PACT credits?
This would have zero impact on taxpayers and the AL budget. Given the annual entry rate of new UA students covered by PACT, this should cover the next $100M or so of tuition, or around 4,000 new students.
This would immediately cure approx 1/4-1/3 of the current PACT deficit at no real cost to taxpayers! My figures are ballpark estimates, but regardless of exactness this could have a significant impact on shoring up the difference.
Just an 'outside the box' thought to consider.
