TERRIFIC first meeting! Congrats to Chuck and for the endless hours of dedication from Donna. The turnout was overwhelming and spirited-anytime the news people barely have room for their equipment, it's a good meeting.
Now for the hard work-rolling our sleeves up and sharing this message with those we know (and perhaps some we don't). Perhaps one could look at it this way-by taking the risk of sharing this message with a stranger, the worst thing that can happen is you meet someone new.
Many thanks to Donna Peacher for organizing today's meeting and to Chuck for agreeing to Captain future meetings. I was having some difficulty hearing or just wasn't paying attention at the right time so I didn't get the new Captain's full name or email address. I'd really appreciate if someone would post that information.
My hope is that SaveAlabamaPACT will be a positive example in the state of Alabama as well as looking out for the best interests of PACT holders.
Agreed! Well done Donna! Thanks to all who came out! Please join in on the discussions-- and watch for this area to move out of the Members Only area soon.
Any technical questions or issues please let me know-- I am here to help! rebecca@savealabamapact.com
Looking forward to a great progressive group out of Madison Co!
I'd also like to thank Patti and Rebecca for being present at the Madison County meeting. Your input was so informative and very much appreciated.
Our new leader has authorized me to give out his email address and phone number.
It is:
cngdsg@comcast.net and 880 6896.
I spoke with Chuck at length yesterday-he's doing a fantastic job of mobilizing the variety of talents available within the group. I'm not sure exactly what our 'war cry' should be ( I know both Auburn and Alabama have their own) but we still need people actually registering on this website and taking the risk of getting their feet wet. Let's try to keep up the positive momentum and continue recruiting new members!
I would LOVE to hear from more individuals who are interested in being on the Public Relations committee-meetings will be kept at a minimum; correspondence will be via email with an occasional conference call. Our worst enemy is apathy and the assumption that someone else will always take care of our business. Take a risk, drop Chuck an email (or me if you're into PR) and let him know what you're willing to do.

Madison Dad, I had a call from one of our members who does not have email (thus far, we have 2). She had a suggestion that might be worth heeding. I am in the county and don't receive Comcast TV, but she said they have a "rolling" advertisement segment somewhere on their cable (she thought it might be Channel 16???) which appears to have PSA's. This might be worth checking into when we know the date of the next meeting. Maybe it could be posted on this channel.
Wanted to let y'all know that my future role in PACT will be in communicationns/email. So if any of you folks want to join the Madison County Chapter of SaveAlabamaPact, please contact me at dhpeacher@gmail.com or call me at 256-852-7817. Chuck is going to be a fantastic leader and is organized to the max! We are making real progress on our database, but still need some of you to send us your address, phone numbers, how many PACT contracts you own, and your occupations.

By the way, we didn't know whether to expect 6 or 60 at our first meeting and were so gratified when over 100 new faces came pouring through the doors!
