Hello Fellow PACT owners!  My name is Ruth Gray and I am the Tuscaloosa/West Alabama area lead.  We are planning a meeting at the end of Sept....probably the 28th at 7 pm if I can get Dr. Bentley and Artur Davis to confirm.  Does anyone have a place to meet (100 attendees)?  Please let me know asap.  You can contact me at ruthgray@savealabamapact.com

Please continue to distribute the flyers in our local churches, store windows, schools, wherever you can.  Spread the news by word of mouth and encourage anyone in our area who owns a PACT to contact me.  You can also spread the word by sending an email to everyone in your address book and asking them to forward it to everyone in their address books.  Invite them to check out our web page www.savealabamapact.com.  You can do the same thing on using your facebook friends--inviting them to join our SaveAlabamaPACT group on facebook. 

If you know any of our local politicians who would be willing to attend our mtg, please contact them.  If you need my assistance, please feel free to contact me.  I look forward to seeing each of you at our mtg.  We MUST have your support to save our PACT.

Wow!  We had an incredible meeting last night in Tuscaloosa.  We had 120 people in attendance with 8 elected officials/politicians.  There were 3 television stations and a newspaper there to provide coverage. 

Thanks to all those who were able to attend--especially Patti Lambert and Rebecca Thrasher who have a long distance to commute.

Please be aware that the following politicians and elected officials were in attendance and are supportive of saving our PACT:

Also, please be aware that there were several elected officials invited who never responded or declined:  Congressman Artur Davis, Sen Bobby Singleton, and Rep Ken Guin. 

We each play a vital role in saving our PACT.  Write letters, emails, make phone calls, visits, attend meeting....those are just a few things we can do.  Also, we really need tremendous assistance locating the other 1,900 in Tusc and West Alabama who own PACTs.  We need them to be involved and show their support.  Please help spread the word to find these owners.  Please direct them to me at ruthgray@savealabamapact.com

9/21/09 Report  at the botton of the right column.  The Treasurer's office posted this information on 9/21/09.  It provides the number of active PACT contracts (based on purchaser addresses) by zip code, city, and state as of 9/8/2009.  Total active PACT contracts statewide is 45,645.  I am working with some folks to develop a map reflecting the totals by county (the data is by city, but we have something that converts sums all the cities in a county).  FYI, the total number of active PACT purchasers in Madison County alone is 4,032.  Morgan County has 1277.  Hope to have a map for everyone to look at in a few days.  Also, there are active PACT contracts in every county in the State.  Should be an effective tool with legislators.
