Topic: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

Topic: General Discussion of Madison County MembersWanted to advise that we only have had 12 responses to our Madison County solicitations for contract owners.  I'm on the trail of 5 others who posted on Facebook, but with no email addresses. We desperately need to get their attention some way.  If you know any PACT owners in Madison County, please give them my email address, dhpeacher@gmail.com.  They also need to get on the master email list through www.savealabamapact.com

I am frustrated in that I'm sure there are a lot of Madison County people on that master list, but I've tried and failed to obtain their names.  I think one problem is that they haven't requested locations with their email sign-up section.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Today, we found a restaurant (El Coyote out in Gurley) that said we could put our flyer up in their entryway.  So we need to go back out there and do it.  (By the way, they have good food!).  Star Supermarket in Five Points also let us put one up, however, Kroger said no.

I still have made no decision about being the leader of the Madison County Group.  As I said before, I don't have a lot of stamina and I really think there are many more qualified people out there with great organizational skills.  I am great at being a "helper"!  I look forward to us all (and more) getting together and brainstorming, etc.  We are going to have our hands full in trying to save the PACT contracts.  Please be trying to think up some innovative ideas to present to our reps/senators for funding.

Please join in the conversation... we need to hear from you.

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

today we have 30 members!  More called to say they would come to the meeting and join up.  Yea!  Anyone please feel free to post your comments under the Madison County groups.

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

We now officially have 99 members in Madison County- not including spouses!  We are being contacted regularly by individuals wanting to join our cause.   Please be contacting everyone you know.  We need a thousand, not a hundred!  We are going to need all the help we can get!  I wish the board meeting on the 19th wasn't during the school week and we would be able to bring the kids and grandkids!  Ted and I have bought our T-shirts and yard signs and I'm  gonna wear my T-shirt even if I have to put it on after I get to Montgomery!  Come on folks, try your best to get there.  We need numbers!  Of course, we understand that it's impossible for some people to miss work.  If you can't come, just think good thoughts for us.  IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN!

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

I just saw 31 news and want to be a part of the Madison County Save Pact organization.  I personally have one contract that is paid for and another that I am well into paying for.  I had signed up for a third contract in January for my newest addition but stopped paying after a couple of months when I saw that Pact was failing.  I don't have a lot of time but I will do whatever I can to help.  Call on me anytime.

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

ATTENTION MADISON COUNTY/CITY PACT HOLDERS!  I'd like to know if anyone else is interested in manning a booth at the upcoming Madison Street Festival.  I don't yet know if they will allow us to be there but it would be a great opportunity to get our message out and recruit new members!  I need to know if you'd be willing to take a shift manning an information table....shouldn't be more than a couple of hours.

Thanks!

We now have 170 members.  However, our no. 170 from Madison County ("David A" with an AOL address) was forwarded to us from this website.  When we attempted to send him our Madison County "welcome" message, it bounced!  We've tried several times to no avail.  If you're out there, please email dhpeacher@gmail.com or call me at 852-7817 and we'll get it straightened out.  Thanks.

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

Folks I am thrilled with the following email of today:
"Article in redstone rocket tomorrow.  Under Announcements  --- near back
pages.

Did post some of your flyers"

This is wonderful.  Pact membership recruitment is the object of the article and flyers.  Best of all it is on REDSTONE ARSENAL and will get lots of exposure.

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

We're up to 203 members!  We hope the meeting next Monday, 11/23 at First Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 7:00pm to 9:30 pm will greatly increase our membership.  Please come - enter by the St. Clair Ave back side of the church.  See y'all there!

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

We sent this to all our members in Madison County  today:

Okay Folks,  let's show the rest of the state and Montgomery in particular what Madison County thinks about this situation.  Let's rally around our cause!  Come on people!  Stand up for what you believe in - Our Children!

COME TO OUR MEETING!  WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!  WE NEED TO SHOW THEM THAT WE MEAN BUSINESS.  REMEMBER, NEXT YEAR IS AN ELECTION YEAR!

Place:  First Baptist Church
             600 Governors Drive
             Huntsville, AL 35801

Fellowship Hall (enter from St. Clair Ave. - follow the signs)

Time:   7:00 pm to 9:30 pm

There are two entrances to the Fellowship Hall.  Use either one.  Once inside, please sign in at handy tables, pick up one of our informative handouts and take a seat  (all  except the first row, which is reserved for invited speakers).  We will examine each signed-in name and add any new members (who own contracts) to our confidenial email list so that they, too, can receive all information that we send out.  For those who don't have computers, we are happy to send our information by regular mail.

You will notice toward the back of the room there is a table with our Green Save Alabama Pact T-Shirts, bumper stickers, etc.  These items for sale are our only way of making money to try to defray our web expenses.  Remember, no one gets paid - we are all volunteers     There will be self-addressed envelopes you can pick up if you'd like to make a donation on the spot or by mail.    If you decide to donate while at the meeting, you merely need to hand your envelope to Rebecca Thrasher of our statewide Save Alabama Pact organization.  She will be manning the table near the back of the room.  . Any size contribution would be greatly appreciated.

Please come and hear the presentation of our goals, strategies and plans.  You will have an opportunity to put forth your own questions.

Remember - it for our children!

See you there!

Donna Peacher

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

The next meeting of the Madison County Chapter of Save Alabama Pact will take place at the Huntsville Public Library, 915 Monroe Street, on February 7, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. (take the first door to the right inside the entrance). We realize this is Super Bowl Sunday, however, we feel this should be enough time for us to meet and for you to get home in plenty of time for the football festivities. It has been very difficult to line up a facility and this is the only date available until March.

We feel a meeting is needed to update our members on the latest activities/status of the state legislature and our statewide PACT organization. This will mainly be a general meeting and roundtable discussion for our current membership, and any new members who may come. If you know of someone who is a PACT owner, please urge them to come and join us. Should any members of our legislature happen to show up, they will be welcome to join the discussion.

Join us, just walk on in or call me, Donna Peacher, 256-852-7817 or email me at dhpeacher@gmail.com.

It's for your children!

Re: Recruitment of Madison Co. PACT Owners

To all those people in Madison County who have actively helped us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We haven't given up.  To all those many more people in Madison County who have sat on their hands.... (censored).  I hope you've realized what you may have lost.
