Topic: Sen. Roger Bedford letter

An emailer provided this today:

"  Tried to bring our bill as a possible solution up in Senate  on Thursday and Sen.Pittman and Figures objected.

Later met with Gov.R and Lt.Gov.Folsom about PACT and Gov. said had a good meeting with Dr. Bronner who agreed to do a Act. study and come back with some sound financial options.

We must find a solution.

  Thanks,

  Roger"

Re: Sen. Roger Bedford letter

Have just received word from Senator Roger Bedford that he supports the HB 228 with cap!

Re: Sen. Roger Bedford letter

We had a good email exchange with Sen Tom Butler who is solidly on board with HB 228.

Re: Sen. Roger Bedford letter

Arthur Orr is definitely on our side. His letter to me received today: "I supported the Senate bill earlier and fully intend to do the same with the House Bill now in the Senate. I truly believe we must address this problem now in the legislature rather than later in the courts. The latter course of action would ob...viously include tremendous legal fees in addition to causing many famiilies in our state worries and concerns over the future fundinng of college for their family member(s). I also believe that our state institutions of higher education must be part of the solution not an impediment to one."

Patti Lambert Warning to Alabama and Auburn Universities. Do not blame my babies or the Pact Children because you have raised tuition across the board an average of 110% in 10 years...those new pretty buildings are going to look pretty sad EMPTY because the average household in Alabama cannot afford your tuition and fees.. or wil...l you educate another states child on the backs of Alabama Tax Payers.. Enough !!!See More

Re: Sen. Roger Bedford letter

Dr. Witt's message is all over our kids UA email and local UA news television and newspaper. It's just a shame that it sounds like such a wonderful cause "Protecting Students"--what a joke. Try Protecting Money and Power for themselves. The public wants to do the right thing and protecting students sure does sound l...ike a good cause to those who are familiar with the PACT facts. Many will be confused between "Save Alabama PACT" and "Protect Students".

CALL TO ACTION! Please don't give up and let them win. Let's join together in a mighty force like never before and champion for our children. 44,000 contract families could make a monumental impact on our legislators if we only banned together. Please don't rely on our SAP leaders to be our voices. Speak for yourself. Speak for our children who cannot speak for themselves. Today is the day. The time is drawing to a close. Decisions are being made that will impact your children's future. Make your voice heard.

No Support:
Senator Dixon wants SAP to know that he has thoroughly researched this issue.  He invested in PACT for his two daughters and was quite pleased with the results so he bought his granddaughter a PACT contract as well.  Senator Dixon WILL NOT SUPPORT A TUITION CAP as he believes that will only cause a higher tuition increase for all non-PACT holders.
